A website that shows which physiotherapists in Amsterdam and the surrounding area have a slot free soon. We read the public online agendas of 77 practices and put the open times side by side: 11.276 right now. You pick your complaint and your neighbourhood and see who has time today or tomorrow.
Yes, free. No, no account. You search, pick a time and book on the practice's website.
We re-read the agendas every hour. At some practices we also check a time live the moment you tap it. Still, a slot can just have been taken. That's why you always pick the time once more on the practice's website.
We only show times from public online agendas; more than seventy percent of the 485 practices in the region don't have one. Those practices are listed too, with a phone number. If a practice is missing or something is wrong, mail us. Run a practice? See for practices.
No. You book yourself, with the practice. At some practices we can pre-fill the form, but you press the final button.
Usually not. Since 1 January 2006 you can go straight to a physiotherapist in the Netherlands. In 2023, 73 percent of patients came without a referral (Nivel). A referral is needed for treatment of a condition on the chronic list and for treatment at home.
After an accident or fall, with fever, with loss of strength or numbness, with problems urinating or passing stool, with unexplained weight loss and with pain at night. If in doubt, call your GP.
Only conditions on the chronic list (Annex 1 of the Health Insurance Decree), and only from the 21st treatment. The first 20 you pay yourself or through supplementary insurance. That applies once per condition, not every year.
Hip or knee osteoarthritis: up to 12 supervised exercise sessions a year. Intermittent claudication: up to 37 treatments a year. Urinary incontinence: 9 pelvic physiotherapy sessions. COPD from stage 2, depending on severity.
Yes. Treatments from basic insurance count toward your deductible (eigen risico). In 2026 that is € 385.
The first 9 treatments per condition are covered, plus 9 more if medically needed (18 a year). Conditions on the chronic list are covered in full. No deductible applies.
Those are not in basic insurance. Supplementary insurance covers 6 to 50 treatments a year depending on your package, with no deductible. Without supplementary insurance you pay yourself.
In 2026 a regular treatment costs € 47 to € 61. An intake or screening costs € 50 to € 60, manual therapy about € 60. Miss an appointment without cancelling and many practices charge it anyway.
No. Since 2025 it is no longer covered by basic insurance.
This is general information, not advice about your policy. The exact cover is in your insurer's policy conditions. Checked on 04 September 2026.
